As a pedestrian friendly, urban destination with a "small town" feel, Waukesha is home to a variety of unique specialty shops, restaurants and businesses. The heart of downtown has been energized by approximately 20 million dollars of new development in the past three years, including the completion of our gorgeouos new Riverwalk which extends three miles through Downtown. Waukesha is well on its way to becoming the cultural center for the county, and boasts a thriving arts district with six galleries and over 50 artists, a cultural museum and a new performing arts theatre.
